The 9'' Press Screw is a versatile tool great for making a book press or a glue press for segmented wood turning applications. The threaded area spans 8 inches and the nut is about 2 inches, allowing for roughly 6 inches of travel. The foot of the press is cast and lacks predrilled holes for screws or bolts, but can be attached to a wooden piece that is attached to the press board. The press thread has 7 threads per inch. However, customers note issues with the press screw stripping after just a few hours of use, resulting in the need for a replacement. Some customers also found that there are no threads inside the collar, so they had to drill a hole in it and tap in a screw to apply some pressure. The product does not come with pre-drilled holes or a wide enough base for prolonged use, and the mounting bracket is flimsy.
