The ventilator is designed to be field-repairable and, as such, you can reverse the direction of both fans by removing the fan housing, turning the fans around and re-attaching the cover without changing the knobs. Customers have used a variety of ventilation for vent placement, and the results are generally positive. It is recommended that you close the other vents to ensure proper air circulation. Unequal opening of vents may lead to an unbalanced ventilation system. Mine can be placed anywhere and left other vents open. Buyers should note that the product is not rated for installation in wet areas but can sustain damp areas. The dimensions are 18"x 9"x 2". Although easy to install, the fan has been noted as noisy by customers. It is suggested to build a 2x4 frame to go between the fan and the vent hole to reduce the noise. It has also been noted that the humidistat is not always accurate, and the fan rarely turns off even when tested away from the crawl space. Reviews indicate fan durability, with one customer noting the last unit lasted for six years before getting noisy.
