Additionally, customers appreciate that these mats can be used to block larger items while still being lightweight. However, there are some downsides. First, the mats seem to have a noticeable chemical smell which can transfer onto the garment. Also, the set comes with 9 blocks which may not be enough for larger projects, such as rectangular items, and cannot be purchased separately. Finally, some rival products offer the added bonus of using the mats for needlepoint too.
