This BAM Violin case is lightweight and top of the line as expected from BAM. The case can accommodate a shoulder rest and other violin accessories such as rosin, mute, and packets of strings. The BAM case lacks a sheet music pocket, however. It is not suitable for violas since they tend to be too narrow for a violin case. The case scratches easily, and the current coating is porous leading to deep gouges, scuff marks, and scratches. However, covering it with stickers or using a nylon cover could be a solution. The detachable pouch is a popular feature that keeps belongings organized. The case has a sleek and elegant design both inside and out, but the black paint on the latches, screws, and hinges is of low quality and chips off easily. The case does not come with a combination lock, making it easier to lose the key. The shipping weight is approximately 5lbs, while the case itself weighs 3.5lbs. Overall, the case is perfect due to its lightweight features and level of protection offered.
