The game is set around River port University, which is presented well with excellent graphics, environmental detail and compelling cutscenes that merge the game's storyline with live NBC Universal style television segments. However, some find the television segments a little cheesy, but it is interesting to see video game characters come to life as actors. Through that medium, Quantum Break presents a well-directed TV show in the context of an excellent video game. The game itself is quite linear but has some replayability, and there is an expansion pack for fans of the Alan Wake series, bought with the original game for free through every purchase copy apart from American Nightmare, available as a pre-order bonus. The game takes around 8-10 hours to complete, depending on difficulty, and collectable completion. In terms of gameplay, Quantum Break features satisfying action elements that combine with the time-manipulation powers to create a fluid, interesting set-up.
