    Answer: Yes, the module comes with three caps - dot, line, and cross, which can be interchanged to achieve different laser effects.
  • Question: Is it possible to change the lens angle of the module?

    Answer: Yes, the default lens angle is 120 degrees. However, other angles such as 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees can be requested by leaving a message during the order.
  • Question: What should I do to prolong the working time of the module?

    Answer: Adding a heatsink to the module is recommended for prolonged usage.
  • Question: What is the divergence angle of this laser?

    Answer: The divergence is dependent on the lens. The focal length is BFL 6.47 EFL 6.0mm. The line lens then diffracts the collimated beam to generate the line or cross, which is dependent on the angle of the lens. i.e. a 60 degree line lens creates 1' of line for every 1' away from the target.
  • Question: Can it cut anything?

    Answer: No, not at this power level.

The 650nm 5mW Adjustable Red Laser Module with Heatsink & Driver is not as bright as expected compared to a green 1mW laser. The line produced is not very tight either. When changing lenses, a spring that holds the focus can easily fall out and get lost. The lens can turn freely and may require thread lock to maintain focus over time. This module has been used successfully for aligning stock and rapid zero x,y on a CNC machine. The lenses and heatsink can also be used for creating different wavelength and power systems with a TO-18 device. Overall, it is a cost-effective option that includes a bonus laser.
