The included relay in this kit is an electrical control device that serves as an automatic switch. It uses a smaller current to control a larger current, offering efficient and reliable functionality.
Compatible with almost all automobiles and devices equipped with a 12V DC power supply, this relay is incredibly versatile. Not only is this relay suitable for controlling electric fans in your vehicle's cooling system, but it can also be used for a variety of other applications. It can be used to control starter kills, power door lock/actuator, or even change a low current output to a high current output. Additionally, it can be used for controlling motors and other electronics. The relay features various pins that serve different functions.
Pins 85 and 86 are used to turn on the relay and require a positive (+) and negative (-) power source. Pin 30 is either a (+) or (-) source that feeds Pin 87 or Pin 87a. When the relay is turned on, Pin 87 and Pin 30 are connected, allowing for the smooth operation of your electric cooling fan. Please note that while the relay is rated for 30 amps, the socket's 14AWG wires may not be sufficient for continuous use at the rated amperage.
If you intend to run 30 amps continuously, we recommend replacing the wires with 10 gauge wires for added safety and reliability. Alternatively, you can use 6.3 mm female connectors to connect directly to the relay pins.
